Choices In A Pack
Choices In A Pack offers middle school students decision-making opportunities
regarding cigarettes and smokeless tobacco. Topics are presented with teen
issues in mind: popularity, looks, athlestics, and peer group interests as
opposed to focusing on lifelong health issues and cancer statistics. The
two computer-based exploration games (either Mac or PC) can stand alone or be used
in conjunction with other aspects of curriculum. In almost every case, materials
may be used in any of four ways: whole class instruction, cooperative groups,
individual tasks, or in learning centers. These matrials were designed with
the multicultural audience in mind, and serve as a springboard to additional
exploration and investigation by students.
